• Clean you gutters 
• Inspect the foundation of your home
• Check your yard for any dead or diseased tree's
• Secure any furniture in your home that can fall during a large storm
• Have your roof inspected every year
• Think about the landscaping around your home
• Pack up any outdoor furniture you may have outside of your house before the storm gets worse
•  Know how to shut off your utilities in case you need to during the storm.
• Unplug any electronics 
• Identify any safe rooms in your home in case you need to take cover when the storm is getting hectic 
• Shutter your windows 
• Create a disaster kit, this can help your family out a lot during a large storm in case you need it at any point
• Watch the weather
